Fun Birding Activity for Kids & Adults Alike
Here’s a fun birding activity for kids or adults alike.
Now that spring is officially here, the birds are arriving home to many places that they haven’t been all winter long. The sweetest sound is that of birds singing and chirping, all the while, flitting around in search of that special place to call home for the season. Since the Coronavirus hit last spring, bird watching has become one of the most popular things to do while we’re stuck at home. Here’s a fun little birding activity for kids to test their bird sighting skills and to get them involved in bird watching.
See if you and the kids can spot the following birds in your yard or in your neighborhood as you travel to and fro. Here are 10 common birds found in the northeastern USA and many other places around the country and world. (I added a bonus bird, so keep your eyes and ears peeled. You’ll hear it before you see it.) Print the form out and take it with you. Check them off as you find them.
Can you spot him anywhere? Remember to listen first…
How many were you able to find in your yard or neighborhood? Thanks for playing along. Let me know in the comments if you enjoyed this birding activity for kids and if I should do another one; I can send you on yet another bird hunt.
Do you want more birding quizzes? Check out my other posts and test your knowledge.
There are a few more, check them out, and be sure to subscribe while you’re there so you don’t miss any posts. As always, keep those feeders filled and enjoy the spring weather and the return of the birds. ~ Karen
