Happy New Year 2020- How Will You Celebrate?
Welcome, 2020! Happy New Year to everyone, everywhere! For me, 2020 is going to be a year of positivity, productivity and big changes.
Back to School!
2020 is going to be a great year for me as I continue my education. This past fall I finally made the decision to go back to school! For many years I’ve talked about going back, however, since I have so many interests, I couldn’t decide on a major. I love to garden and make the outdoors beautiful, as well as work with my hands, so I decided on Horticulture. It’s the perfect major for me!

Going back to school was a great idea and my first semester went extremely well. Being that I still work full-time, I am limiting myself to three classes each semester. While I had a ton of homework, I persevered, worked really hard, and it all paid off. I finished my first semester with three A’s and a perfect 4.0 GPA! I made some new friends, learned some Spanish and some new computer skills as well as honed my writing skills. Learning PowerPoint in my computer class even gave me the opportunity to educate my classmates about Opossums.

Goals…
The spring semester starts in just a couple weeks and I’m really looking forward to it. Three more classes and hopefully three more A’s and more new friends. My goal when I finish school in a few years is to help homeowners with their gardening needs, choosing plants that are right for their yards to increase curb appeal as well as making their yards bird and wildlife-friendly. Specializing in landscape design for small to medium-sized yards and small businesses is my ultimate plan.

Never Give Up
My wish for you in this new year is that of health, happiness and prosperity. Take time to stop and smell the roses, so to speak, and quite literally. Go after your goals and don’t let anyone talk you out of them. You can do anything that you put your mind to and it’s never too late to try something new, go back to school or make your dreams come true. Set some time aside for yourself, no matter how busy you are. Read a book, pick up a new hobby, take a trip, have a picnic by the lake or put up a bird feeder and relax by watching the birds. Whatever you choose, do something just for you! Happy 2020!
Awesome!
Thank you
Thank you for all the fun quizzes and interesting fun facts. I hope you have a wonderful 2020 and thank you for sharing your entusiasm and positive outlook on this New Year. Best of luck as you take your classes and aim for the perfect career for you!!!
Thank you for the positive feedback. It’s been some time since I’ve posted and I miss writing. I’ve had a very trying year and a half, but here’s to keeping it simple and getting through one day at a time. My favorite quote from the movie “Meet the Robinson’s” is ‘keep moving forward’ and that’s what I intend to do in 2020.
